A. Pokutny and V. Adarichev signed a contract with Ivan Shapovalov in Moscow on September the 23rd. The contract will regulate copyrights of the songs that will be included on the debut album of Katya Nechaeva. The release of the Russian version is scheduled for November 2003. The English version of the album is preliminarily planned to be released in December 2003 in Japan, during the Tatu Japanese Tour. Ms. Nechaeva, A. Pokutny and V. Adarichev are applying for the Japanese entrance visas right now.
Mr. Pokutny/Adarichev’s company and Netformat are intended to sign another contract on the studio production of Tatu and 7B, and a mutual management of Katya Nechaeva.

Atreu Cell comment:
Okay, first of all, for those who don’t already know, Katya Nechaeva is closely related to Tatu musically, as she actually did some of the backing vocals on some of their Russian songs! Some of which are quite recent!
But there’s more to it than that! Remember The 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Latvia??? Well, before the contest, Ivan mentioned he might put another girl on stage with Yulia and Lena as they’re backing singer, if the organizers (of Eurovision) would let him! He said he wanted to do this because she is they’re backing singer on the album (in fact, that’s a bit misleading, but we’ll come to that in a sec!), and as such, if they can’t use playback, they should be allowed to have Tatu and they’re backing singer on stage at the same time! Ms. Nechaeva was the girl that Ivan was referring to!
Now, I’ve listened to a few of Katya’s songs (on MP3), and some of them are very good! She’s certainly not as good as Tatu (of course!), but she is very talented and certainly has her own style, so respect to her for that!
The thing is though, much like Lena Kiper, people, including the Pointy Nosed Man (sorry Ivan!), keep implying that they did all of the backing vocals!!! Clearly, this is impossible, as they (Ms. Kiper and Ms. Nechaeva) never, to my knowledge, worked together! Therefore, Ms. Kiper did a few backing vocals to a few tracks, and Ms. Nechaeva did the same to some of the others!
Yulia herself once commented that Ms. Nechaeva did the backing vocals to a few songs, and that was all. So there you go!!!
As for Katya’s new album, I’m really looking forward to the Russian version, actually, but I’m a bit concerned with the timing of the English version! I have nothing whatsoever against Katya, I just don’t want the release of her album (in Japan) to detract from Tatu’s visit!
I can, of course, fully appreciate that for Ivan, it’s a case of getting two things done in one go, but I don’t care! I want Tatu to have the maximum impact possible when they do their tour of Japan, and I don’t want anything to deviate people’s attention from them!
I really do think Ivan should’ve timed it differently, so that, for example, Katya’s new album comes out a month after Tatu’s tour! I think that would have been much better for Tatu! As it is, whilst I don’t mean to sound bad to Katya, I think Ivan is using Tatu’s profile as an easy way to get publicity for Katya’s new album!
I think this is actually really disrespectful to both Katya and Tatu!
Katya is good enough to stand on her own merit! And Tatu deserves undivided attention, always!!!
Also, are Ivan and his crew (so to speak) spreading themselves to thin???
Think about it! A. Pokutny and V. Adarichev are writing, producing, and ‘mutually’ managing (alongside Ivan) both Katya, 7B and Tatu at the same time!!! Call me cynical, but historically, this sort of collaboration can only continue for a certain time before there is a conflict of interest!!! Or maybe Yulia and Lena are going to manage themselves??? They’re certainly intelligent enough to do so! And I’ve noticed they’ve been getting more and more independent recently!
They did their performance (over 1 hour long) at the Smukkeste Festival without Ivan being there at any point during they’re entire trip (the festival was in Copenhagen, Denmark), and everyone who saw them there said it was fantastic!
So, maybe this isn’t such a bad thing after all! ^_^
